With LeBron James out of the picture, Chris Bosh is already asserting himself as the main man in South Beach to start the 2014-15 NBA season.
Bosh went for 30 on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers, visibly relishing his role as the team's leader in a 114-96 victory.
“It’s fun, I’m not gonna lie,” Bosh said, via Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post. “It’s the beginning of the season and we haven’t hit any rough parts yet — and the rough parts will come. There will be times when it’s not fun. But so far, it’s OK. Fun or not, I try to stay even as much as possible and not get caught up in what everything means. I just keep playing basketball and try to get the job done."
The veteran big man is excited to drive the offense, pushing the attack towards the basket rather than sitting back and watch LeBron do the honors.
“It’s more natural to me to be aggressive and attack the basket," Bosh admitted. "This team didn’t need me to do that the last four years, but I’ve always thought I could really show everybody and now’s my chance."
"I just humbly take the position and do as much work as I can.”
