The Miami Heat had been quiet through the first week of free agency, but with a make-or-break meeting with LeBron James looming, Pat Riley has wasted no time making things happen. Less than an hour after the Heat agreed to terms with free agent PF Josh McRoberts, the team reached a two-year deal with former All-Star Danny Granger.

Granger spent ten seasons with the Indiana Pacers, winning the NBA's Most Improved Player award with them in 2009, the same year as his only All-Star appearance. Granger averaged over 25 ppg that year, but patellar tendinosis limited his effectiveness in the years since. The Pacers traded Granger to the Los Angeles Clippers prior to February's trade deadline, and he played a very limited role off the bench during the Clippers' playoff run.
