In this Heat rumors and news update, the Miami Heat are exploring a potential sign-and-trade of point guard Mario Chalmers.
According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, Heat president Pat Riley is sending out feelers about a Chalmers trade in order to gauge what he might be able to get in return:

Chalmers came under fire in the media during the 2014 NBA Finals for a shooting slump and perceived lack of confidence. While his teammates rallied around him through his struggles, it is possible that he has become expendable in the eyes of Miami Heat management.
Averaging 9.8 points and 4.9 assists in 29.8 minutes per game in 2013-14, Chalmers' stock remains high thanks to a career-high 45.4% field goal percentage during the regular season.
The Heat will undoubtedly find takers for Chalmers. Yet, it's what they could possibly receive in return which is the most intriguing variable - something which could have a strong effect on LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh as they ponder their next step in free agency.
