Can the Heat End the Streak?

Last week Lebron James scored a career-high 61 points on 22-33 FG, leading the Heat to victory over the Bobcats. In the three games after his explosive performance, James has a combined total of 58 points on 23-59 FG.

Miami, second in the Eastern conference, is now on a three-game losing streak after today's loss against the Chicago Bulls. The game went into overtime with the scored tied at 86, where the Bulls (or Joakim Noah), took over and beat the Heat 95-88.

Miami's game against the San Antonio Spurs didn't go well for them either. They lost 111-87, marking their largest loss on the season. The Spurs, once again, are number one in the Western conference.

Miami has been on the road, playing tough away games against Houston, San Antonio and Chicago, but will return for their next game against the Washington Wizards. James, who has ditched the mask guarding his broken nose a week early, has taken a large step backward from his massive performance against Charlotte, and needs to step up his game if he wants to stay in the MVP conversation. With Kevin Durant averaging 31.8 points per game and James putting up only 27.2, Durant is still the favorite.

Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh have been the high point scorers during many of Heat's away games this season. They seem to be holding it together for the team on the road lately.

Miami stands at 9th overall in points per game and assists per game, 30th in rebounds and 8th in points allowed. From what we have seen in the past from the two-time champions, their overall rankings can and should be much better.

With the team returning to its home court, they should be able to break the losing streak and get back on track.
