In today's Heat news update, the vaunted Big Three of the Miami Heat met on Wednesday to discuss their options going forward, according to sources close to ESPN.com.
According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, "much like they did before signing with the Miami Heat in 2010, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh got together for a meeting to discuss their futures on Wednesday."
James opted out of the final two years and $42 million of his deal with the Heat on Tuesday, with Wade and Bosh having until midnight on Monday to either join him in opting out or remain on their current deals.
Per the Miami Herald, all three met for a meal on South Beach, well aware of the weight of their upcoming decisions when it comes to the future of the team and their own professional lives.
Back in 2006, the Big Three met with one another before signing three-year contract extensions which made them all free agents in the summer of 2010. That offseason, Wade, James, and Bosh all signed contracts which would allow them to opt out this week.
While most reports have James returning to the Heat on a restructured deal, he is also expected to stay in contact with Carmelo Anthony as Melo surveys his own options in free agency.
