The Miami Heat have an interesting offseason ahead of them as they try to keep their core group together while improving enough to improve upon their second round exit in the playoffs. While their first priorities are to re-sign Hassan Whiteside and Dwyane Wade, they are expected to be a player on the open market as well despite limited cap space. Miami is hoping to make a play for Kevin Durant, but they are well behind in the race to land him as he figures to sign with either the Thunder or Warriors. Here are three other free agents they are expected to target this offseason.
3) Jeff Green
Green has never really lived up to his potential, but he's still a quality player at a position of need. The Heat could lose multiple forwards this offseason and Green could essentially replace Luol Deng in the lineup. Green might be a bit too pricy, but he's an option.
2) Ryan Anderson
Anderson could get a deal bigger than expected, which could put the Heat out of the running, but Miami is likely to make a pass at Anderson. He is one of the best 3-point shooting power forwards in the NBA, with Chris Bosh's career in question, the Heat are at least going to look at PFs this summer - especially ones that can stretch the floor.
1) Al Horford
Miami simply doesn't have the funds to sign Horford, Wade and Whiteside, but if the Heat aren't able to bring Whiteside back, Horford tops their wishlist to replace him. He's going to get a max deal this offseason, and he wants to play for a contender.
