Forecasters said it’s expected that thunderstorms are likely to impact South Florida Thursday afternoon and evening. What isn’t clear is how severe those storms will be -- and if they do get severe, how widespread the severity will be throughout the region.
According to a hazardous weather outlook, a cold front heading toward southern Florida from the northwest on Thursday will bring increased rain and thunderstorm chances.
“Some of the storms that form along and ahead of the cold front may become strong to severe, bringing frequent lightning, isolated strong to damaging wind gusts, small hail, and locally heavy rainfall,” the outlook stated.
