The Tennessee Titans have selected quarterback Marcus Mariota from Oregon. Here is his scouting report, courtesy of Justin Capriotti (@JCapSports):
Marcus Mariota has all the makings of being the face of an NFL franchise, but he’ll enter the league upon a steep learning curve. The success rate of quarterbacks from systems like the one Oregon runs is low in the NFL, but I believe Mariota will be an exception to this.
His improvement as a pocket passer from his freshman to junior year is noteworthy, but there is still progress to be made. Mariota’s arm strength will do just fine at the NFL level, but it is by no means elite.
