Three people are in custody and up to three more remain at large after an attempted traffic stop early Friday resulted in a shootout in which a Miami police officer’s Taser built may have saved her from a bullet wound.
Miami police told South Florida news outlets that it was about 2 a.m. when the officer was conducting traffic stop in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 54th Street when the occupants of a Dodge Charger started firing at the officer.
"She was not struck, however, her taser, which she was wearing on her gunbelt, was struck by one of the rounds.
