The Dolphins have expressed interest in New Orleans coach Sean Payton. If New Orleans only wants a second-round draft pick for Payton, which is what FOX Sports and NFL Network have reported, I say give them the pick. Right now.
Consider the Dolphins’ last five second-round picks and think whether you would want Payton or the player: defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (2015), wide receiver Jarvis Landry (2014), cornerback Jamar Taylor (2013), offensive tackle Jonathan Martin (2012) and running back Daniel Thomas (2011). Landry is the only one who even merits debate.
