The extent of the leverage Reshad Jones possessed in his push for a new contact is about to expire.
All of the "voluntary" work the NFL requires players participate in during the offseason has come to an end. This week features a three-day mandatory minicamp that concludes the Miami Dolphins' offseason work, and anyone not in attendance can be fined a little over $25,000 a day.
According to a source, Jones, a 2015 Pro Bowl selection and the team's leading tackler, plans to skip the three practices this week because of his push for a new contract.
