Miami Dolphins rookies turned into coaches and fans Wednesday when they participated in their first community event as NFL players.
For the second consecutive year, the Dolphins hosted Special Olympic athletes for some flag football action inside the practice bubble at the Doctors Hospital Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University.
“There’s some great athletes,” General Manager Dennis Hickey said of the Dolphins’ guests. “They’re having a great time out here. For the Miami Dolphins, we’re so glad to be able to partner with Special Olympics and have events like this. From a personal standpoint, I love being around these guys and see these athletes from year to year, from event to event, and really making that connection and having our players making that connection with all these special athletes.
