Phinsider Flash Poll: How will Mario Williams signing affect Olivier Vernon's situation?
The Dolphins signed former Buffalo Bill's defensive end Mario Williams to a two-year deal earlier today. Previous to that move, last week, the Dolphins had placed the transition tag on defensive end Olivier Vernon. The two-year signing of Williams seems to be a move to try and win now that will cost the Dolphins somewhere in the range of 8 million dollars per season. The transition tag gives the Dolphins the right to match any offer that Vernon may receive from another team. If Vernon were to not sign with another team it would pay him 12.
