CARLSBAD, Calif.–A lot has changed for the Dolphins since their 1-4 start, which could have easily been 0-5 if not for some nice breaks in the Cleveland game, and one of the differences is the defensive players taking more ownership.
Miami linebacker Jelani Jenkins said the defense started holding players-only film sessions in October, fostering accountability and a sharper commitment to the overall game plan.
“I think it’s a real, real trust in the system,” Jenkins said. “All 11 guys are on the same page, and we’re doing a lot better job communicating and the players working the system throughout the week and bringing everyone together and having players-only meetings and stuff like that.
