EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Not much was expected of Miami Dolphins backup quarterback Matt Moore and defensive end Cameron Wake entering the season. Moore, 32, was an aging backup quarterback who hadn't played since 2011, while Wake is a 34-year-old defensive end coming off a season-ending Achilles injury.
It was unknown if Moore would get another start after sitting four-plus years behind ironman quarterback Ryan Tannehill. And who knew if Wake could still handle the grind of 16 games or have the same kind of explosion after significant surgery.
It turns out Moore and Wake -- two old-timers -- were the biggest cogs in Miami's 34-13 blowout victory over the New York Jets.
