The Miami Dolphins started the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft with three picks, then made a trade up with the Philadelphia Eagles to select Utah guard Isaac Asiata with the 164th overall pick. That trade caused the Dolphins to lose their 184th overall pick, but they kept the 178th overall pick, plus added a pick in the sixth round. The team has now used that 178th overall pick to add LSU defensive tackle Davon Godchaux.
Undersized three-technique who played with the punch and arm extension to set a strong edge even though he might be a better fit for a one-gap unit.
