One way or another, Doug Pederson and Philadelphia just seem to go together.
Former Dolphin Pederson, 47, was selected by the Eagles on Thursday to be their new coach, replacing Chip Kelly, which means he’ll return to the team he once played for — but also once defeated in one of the most important games in Miami Dolphins history.
A series of injuries left Don Shula calling Pederson’s name in November 1993, and Pederson responded by rallying Miami to a 19-14 victory that gave Shula his 325th career victory, moving him ahead of Chicago’s George Halas on the list of the NFL’s all-time winningest coaches.
