The Miami Dolphins signed veteran linebacker James-Michael Johnson on Tuesday, and to make room for Johnson, the Dolphins waived guard/center Sam Brenner for what feels like the 80th time this year. Expect him back on the practice squad soon, as tight end Tim Semisch was waived to make a spot for Brenner.
Johnson, a four-year veteran, was a former standout at Nevada and has played 45 games for the Chiefs, Buccaneers and Jaguars. Johnson has been a starter for 18 of those games.
During his short career, Johnson has accumulated 104 tackles, 1 sack and 2 pass deflections.
