New Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has final say over 53-man roster

DAVIE, Fla. -- New Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, 37, became the NFL's youngest head coach on Saturday. But it also turns out Gase will be one of the league's most powerful coaches.

Dolphins vice president Mike Tannenbaum and owner Stephen Ross confirmed Saturday that Gase also will have final say over the team's 53-man roster. The rookie head coach has no prior personnel experience at the NFL level, but the team is confident Gase can handle the extra duties.

"He’s making the commitment on determining what the 53 [man-roster] is and who the players are -- he’s making that decision," Ross explained.
