Miami Dolphins undrafted rookie, Matt Darr, wins punting job

Longtime starting punter, Brandon Fields, was released by the Miami Dolphins yesterday. A sad day for one man opens another door for the other. In this case, that “other” is newly named starter and undrafted free agent, Matt Darr. Darr, who attended the University of Tennessee, said he was ‘thrilled’ when he heard the news of being named starter.

Darr had nothing but positive things to say about Fields, who has been the starting punter for the Fins since 2007. He was also a pro bowl selection back in 2013.

Reported by ESPN’s James Walker, Darr still shares a locker with fellow rookie kicker, Andrew Franks.
