MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake survived his rookie debut on Thursday night and perhaps the most important word he used after the game was “burst.”
Drake carried 4 times for 6 yards, caught 1 pass for 33 yards and returned 2 kickoffs for 45 yards.
But after seven touches in his debut, Drake proclaimed to be feeling healthy, feeling strong, and feeling “burst” in the wake of two nagging, stress-inducing preseason hamstring injuries. After missing three exhibtion games, the third-rounder is ready to contribute, and just in time.
“It felt good,” Drake said of his hamstring.
