Miami Dolphins may rescind transition tag on Olivier Vernon.

Reports are surfacing that the Miami Dolphins may rescind the transition tag that they placed on defensive end Olivier Vernon last week, a move that set the baseline for salary negotiations with the prized free agent at $12.7 million.

The move made little sense at the time, although it did restrict Vernon from negotiating with other teams until the official start of free agency on March 9. In fact, I've suspected from the beginning that the team would rescind the tag at some point before free agency began.

The Dolphins have made it fairly clear that should another team offer Vernon more than $12.
