One week into training camp, the most lopsided competition has been at kicker, where Andrew Franks towers over rookie Marshall Koehn.
Although Franks would never declare the competition over before the coaches do, it’s clear that when he speaks, it’s one very confident kicker talking.
“My consistency has gotten a lot better,” said Franks, entering his second NFL season. “I think whether it’s a 25-yard field goal or a 65-yarder, I’m wanting to do the same stroke because my strength’s always going to be there. I think for the most part it’s not a matter of, from 55 yards I’ll be more consistent.
