The Miami Dolphins added an important piece to the makeover of the coach staff, hiring Vance Joseph to serve as the team's new defensive coordinator.
Joseph, who spent the previous two seasons as the Cincinnati Bengals defensive backs coach, spent Monday and Tuesday deciding between joining newly hired coach Adam Gase's staff in Miami, and possible being a part of Hue Jackson's staff when the Bengals offensive coordinator eventually landed a job with the Giants, Browns or 49ers during this cycle or hirings.
Joseph, a former Colorado standout who played cornerback for two seasons in the NFL, becomes the first assistant formally hired by Gase.
