Miami Dolphins DT Earl Mitchell, RB Kenyan Drake still not ready to practice

DAVIE — The Dolphins’ starting defensive line is expected to play in the team’s second preseason game Friday.

But defensive tackle Earl Mitchell might not be ready to go, as he was held out of Tuesday’s practice with a lingering calf injury. Mitchell has not practiced since Aug. 5 and has missed seven straight practices.

Running back Kenyan Drake (hamstring), tight end MarQueis Gray (leg), defensive end Farrington Huguenin (ankle), cornerback Chimdi Chekwa (thigh), and defensive tackle Julius Warmsley (concussion) were also held out of practice Tuesday.

Like Mitchell, Drake and Chekwa have not practiced since Aug.
