The deadline for when teams can sign free agent without risking the loss of their future compensatory draft picks has finally passed, and the Miami Dolphins answered by signing veteran defensive end Jason Jones to a one-year deal. Jones had previously met with the Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys. He joins former Detroit Lions teammates Isa Abdul-Quddus and Ndamukong Suh with the Dolphins.
Jones plans to fly down to Miami on Sunday and make the deal official by putting pen to paper.
Jones, 6’5” and 275 pounds, was a second round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2008.
