For the second time in three weeks, an Amtrak train has been involved in a deadly collision in South Florida.
A male pedestrian was hit and killed by a Silver Meteor train traveling northbound in the 1900 block of 12th Avenue South in Lake Worth, investigators said.
The incident happened about 9:47 a.m. Tuesday. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue found the man’s body on the tracks, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The stretch of 12th Avenue South from Ridge Road to Lake Osborne would be closed to traffic until the scene was documented and cleared, officials said.
