Cornerback Josh Norman, who became a surprise free agent this week, signed with the Washington Redskins, the team announced on Friday night.
The Josh Norman sweepstakes did not last very long. Two days after the Carolina Panthers removed the franchise tag from the All-Pro cornerback, Norman agreed to a deal with the Washington Redskins. According to multiple reports, the deal is a 5-year contract worth $75 million, with around $50 million in guaranteed money. That works out to $15 million per year, exactly between the $14- to $16-million price range reported when Norman initially hit free agency. Nofman is now the highest paid cornerback in the league.
