After spending the last seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills, veteran safety Jordan Poyer will be wearing the uniform of a division rival in 2024.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Poyer agreed to a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday. The Dolphins will be the fourth franchise of Poyer's 12-year career.
After being drafted in the seventh round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 and spending three-plus seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Poyer signed with Buffalo in 2017 and became a mainstay in the team's defensive backfield. However, the Bills entered the offseason over $40 million above the salary cap, so they made the tough decision to cut Poyer along with fellow longtime starters Tre'Davious White and Mitch Morse.
