The Miami Dolphins need secondary help. Could they make a play for a former member of their roster?
The San Diego Chargers released defensive back Jimmy Wilson on Tuesday, making roster space for safety Adrian Phillips, whom they promoted from their practice squad. According to SB Nation's Bolts from the Blue, Wilson had seen his playing time reduced as the season continued, down to barely seeing the field "in the last two games, not notching any defensive statistics in either game."
Wilson began his career as a seventh round draft choice of the Miami Dolphins in 2011.
