When the Miami Dolphins selected Utah guard Isaac Asiata in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft, most fans were aware that the Dolphins had gotten great value with that pick. Asiata was projected as high as a second round pick last season, and few expected him to still be available in the fifth round.
But few knew much more about the guy, or what makes him tick. Or at least they didn't until Dolphins Vice President of Football Operations Mike Tannenbaum commented after the draft what it was that most endeared the team to Asiata.
“On the field, he's a nasty prick,” said Tannenbaum.
