Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore won his first start since 2011 on Saturday during a 34-13 victory over the New York Jets.
Moore threw a career-high four touchdown passes. But when you look deeper into the numbers, a majority of his success can be tied to thriving against New York's blitz.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Moore was 8-of-13 throwing against five or more pass-rushers. In addition, 205 of Moore's 236 passing yards and three of four touchdowns came against the blitz. That included Moore's best pass of the night, which was a 52-yard bomb for a touchdown to receiver Kenny Stills in the second quarter.
