The chewed-up field at Hard Rock Stadium is a bit of an eyesore Sunday.
But it is safe for play.
That’s according to a league source, who confirmed that the pitch will be “an NFL-quality surface for the game today.”
A torrential downpour during the Duke-Miami game Saturday night made things a mess, but the stadium grounds crew worked on the field throughout the night to make an acceptable for play.
There was a heavy, steady downpour for much of the first half of the Miami Hurricanes 20-12 loss to Duke on Saturday night. The rain slowed to a drizzle at the start of the second half, stopped completely late in the third quarter and then picked up again in the final minute of the game.
