The Denver Broncos broke the news today about Tom Heckert, Jr.’s passing.
Heckert spent 30 years in the NFL in some capacity. He spent ten years with the Dolphins from 1991-2000 where he spent most of his time as a pro and college scout. His last year he was promoted to Director of Pro Personnel after having served as an assistant in 1999.
Heckert would leave Miami and join the Philadelphia Eagles in 2001 where he helped Andy Reid reach the NFC Championship game four-year in a row and one Super Bowl.
He became the general manager of the Browns inn 2010 and eventually moved on to the Denver Broncos.
