Legendary Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula has been hospitalized because of breathing issues.
Shula, the Hall of Fame inductee who owns the NFL's all-time wins record, was rushed to Aventura hospital Monday evening.
According to his wife, Mary Anne Shula, the 86-year-old was transported to the hospital due to fluid retention and sleep apnea, a disorder that disrupts breathing while some sleeps.
"The family is looking for a speedy recovery," Mary Anna Shula stated.
Shula is being kept in the hospital for observation as a precaution. According to his family, he is alert and in good spirits.
