Once a fan favorite in Miami, suspicious activity and a new contract led the Dolphins to trade him to the Browns on the third day of the draft. In Cleveland, Bess was never able to take care of his business on the field. In fact, Bess only started three games that season and missed the final two games.
A video surfaced of Bess smoking something that allegedly was pot on the back deck of his home and then stranger behavior and off-field issues led to the Browns letting him go.
Bess has not played football since 2013 but early on Tuesday morning, Bess fled a traffic stop in Arizona and barricaded himself in his car.
