Prince, Shakira, Flo Rida and Rihanna were there, at least in spirit.
So were searchlights, smoke machines and a deejay rocking the house.
And Pitbull was there — in person, not in spirit — albeit fashionably late.
Joe Robbie wouldn’t have recognized the place.
The place was the stadium Robbie built and christened in 1987, although, as of Wednesday and for the next 18 years, it will be known as Hard Rock Stadium.
And rock it did with the unveiling, complete with the loudest photo op you may ever see/hear, when a slew of dignitaries including current Dolphins Jarvis Landry, Ndamukong Suh and Reshad Jones joined Dan Marino in smashing guitars on a stage atop the newly installed field, in true Hard Rock tradition.
