In 2015, the Miami Dolphins had problems with their line play on both sides of the trenches. This week they made a move to address both of those issues, hiring the father/son duo of Jim and Jeremiah Washburn as assistants.
Jim Washburn will work as a senior defensive assistant working with the defensive line, while Jeremiah will assist in coaching the offensive unit, a noted sore spot in the Dolphins offensive woes this season.
The elder Washburn has 40 years of coaching experience, having begun his career as a graduate assistant at Southern Methodist University in 1976.
