Former Dolphins president and COO Bryan Wiedmeier has died after fighting brain cancer for several years. He was 56.
Wiedmeier worked under three owners in his 29 years with the Dolphins. He joined the Cleveland Browns in 2010 as executive vice president of business operations.
He was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in 2012 and told the average patient survives 15 months. He exceeded that by about three years. As he continued his work, the Browns rewarded him with a four-year extension in 2014.
That year, he told The Cleveland Plain Dealer he’d been healthy all his life until that point.
