Antonio Armstrong, a linebacker who played four games with the Dolphins in 1995, was shot and killed along with his wife, Dawn, in their Houston home Friday.
Police accused their 16-year-old son with the murders.
Police found the couple, wounded at about 2 a.m. Friday. Dawn died on the scene but Antonio was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital hours later of a gunshot to the head.
Antonio played at Texas A&M from 1991 to 1994 and was a key member of the “Wrecking Crew” defense. Drafted in the sixth round in 1995 by the 49ers, he fractured an ankle in training camp and was released in October.
