Douglas Has Sights Set On Starting Job

Jamil Douglas admitted he was surprised last summer when he got a text message from his strength coach at Arizona State University informing him he had been called a “freak.”

More precisely, Douglas was among the college players included in an NFL.com feature entitled: “14 for ’14: Most freakish athletes in college football.”

Douglas earned that honor because of his prowess in the weight room, with numbers being reported including a power clean of 385 pounds, a bench press of 430 and a squat of 565. It also was noted that Douglas had gained 40 pounds since arriving at Arizona State while his body fat percentage decreased, all the way down to the teens.
