Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are working out several linebackers including veteran Rey Maualuga on Wednesday.
Maualuga, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. He was entering the final year of his three-year, $15 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $3.7 million in 2017.
The Bengals released him last weekend in a move that created $3,668,750 in available cap space.
In 2016, Maualuga appeared in 14 games for the Bengals and recorded 27 total tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
