The Miami Dolphins have waived/injured cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, the team announced Monday morning. He was replaced with cornerback Al Louis-Jean.
Ekpre-Olomu entered the NFL as a seventh round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns last year, despite torn ACL he sustained just prior to Oregon’s Rose Bowl appearance. He missed the entire 2015 season recovering from the surgery, then was waived by the team this offseason. Miami claimed him off waivers, with expectations that, assuming his knee was healed, he would be in competition for the team’s nickel cornerback spot.
Throughout the offseason, the Dolphins have taken slow with Ekpre-Olomu, hoping he would fully recover.
