Historically speaking, the Jets and Dolphins have played not only memorable games but the games have led to one of the most intense rivalries in football.
This week may not have the playoffs riding on the line for the Dolphins but a victory could essentially end any hopes the Jets have at making the post-season. At 5-5 the Jets enter this week tied for the 7th position. They are actually 9th overall in the AFC but three teams have 5-5 records. The 6th seeded Buffalo Bills play tonight. They are 5-4.
While the Dolphins are sitting at 12 and have no chance at making the post-season, playing spoiler to a Jets squad could be what the doctor ordered to put some positive spin on an otherwise dreary and disappointing season.
