It’s been a roller-coaster year for the Miami Dolphins in ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings. Our expert panel can’t seem to peg the team with any consistency as it began with high expectations, underachieved and fired its coach, then had a recent resurgence under interim head coach Dan Campbell.
However, Campbell suffered his first loss with the Dolphins last week in a 36-7 blowout defeat to the New England Patriots. That caused Miami to fall four spots to No. 17 this week.
The Dolphins (3-4) remain a middle-of-the-pack team. They are not consistent enough to be great but talented enough to avoid being a bad team.
