DAVIE – The Miami Dolphins coveted Rutgers receiver Leonte Carroo so much they gave up a king’s ransom in draft picks select him in the third round.
Miami traded the team’s sixth round pick (186) this season, and the franchise’s third and fourth round pick in 2017 to the Minnesota Vikings to put themselves in position to select Carroo, who caught 122 passes for 2,373 yards and 29 touchdowns during his four seasons.
"This is a guy who is a target player. A highly competitive kid who loves football,” Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said of Carroo, who averaged 19.
