New is breaking that the Miami Dolphins will fire defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle this afternoon. Which makes sense because I have to pick up my kids from school. That means the official announcement will come sometime in the next hour because that’s how long it will take me to get home.

The news isn’t surprising given the players admonishments towards him. Coyle has been under fire for two seasons now after his defensive schemes have done nothing but place the Dolpins in the bottom of the league statistically. Coyle was retained this off-season by Joe Philbin who also on Sunday told the media that he would not fire Coyle.
