The NFL no longer assigns players based on conference affiliation so now, players who play for the same team can line up against each other in the annual meaningless game. Which is exactly what happened on Wednesday night when the teams were decided.
Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice are the captains of each team and they divided up the players. Rice will employ wide-receiver Jarvis Landry and corner back Brent Grimes while Irvin drafted Branden Albert and Reshad Jones. Mike Pouncey pulled out of the game with an injury.
If there is any fun to all of this it’s the fact that Landry will line up with his best friend Odell Beckham, Jr.
