Dolphins tie NFL record for safeties in first half

PHILADELPHIA -- Safeties are supposed to be a rare occurrence in football. However, the Miami Dolphins are making it look routine -- and certainly not in a good way.

The Dolphins allowed an offensive safety for the third straight game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill took a blindside hit and fumbled the ball that went in the back of the end zone. The past two weeks against the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills were the results of bad snaps. All three safeties occurred in the first quarter.
