DAVIE - The Miami Dolphins ground game is already struggling, and now it appears the team might have to play Sunday's game against the New York Jets without the squad's most physical tailback.
Jonas Gray, who was added to the 53-man roster last week to beef up the ground game, sat out Thursday's practice because of a strained calf. Gray, who gained 49 yards on nine carries in last week's 41-14 loss to Buffalo, had his participation limited on Wednesday as well.
The former Notre Dame standout spent his rookie season (2013) with the Dolphins while he rehabbed an ACL injury he suffered his senior season.
